When the Internet was established it was primarily the domain of IT nerds, as it became more user friendly its popularity continued to increase. The widespread adoption of the Internet saw the introduction of new forms of crime including identity theft, viruses and phishing scams.
IT security is crucial to avoid having your money or identity stolen., and without your action your information is at serious risk. For this reason if you have a computer and are connected to the Internet it is essential to:
- Turn your firewall ON
- Install Antivirus software and keep up to date
- Download latest patches
- Keep passwords secure and change regularly
- Understand how to avoid spyware and malware
- Remove trial software.
Your action will prevent malicious intent from hackers.
