Change your QUT-Access password and accept the IF Rules
- Start your web browser
- Go to the QUT Home Page

- Click Computer Accounts under Quick Links
- Follow the prompts to change your QUT-Access password and accept the IF Rules.
View Computer Laboratories locations and availability.
Note: QUT Passwords must meet the following requirements:
- Cannot consist entirely of numbers, though may include them
- Must be at least 8 characters in length
- Must have upper and lower case characters, or have at least 1 number
- Cannot have single character repeated more than 3 times
- Cannot be an exact match of your username, forwards or backwards
- Cannot be an anagram of your username or real name
- Are case sensitive (i.e. You must take care typing upper and lowercase).
New passwords can be used immediately.
Please Note: Your QUT-Access password expires every 60 days. You will be notified by email 14 days before your QUT-Access password expires. You should change your password regularly or when prompted, to ensure continued access to all online services.

- Clicking Computer Accounts from the QUT Home Page, then click Forgot your Password?

Information Facilities Rules
All students at QUT are required to:

Comply with the Information Facilities Rules (IF Rules) to use QUT's IT Services
- Familiarize yourself with the IF rules, particularly Schedule 1– Acceptable Use of Information Facilities to avoid actions which could result in disciplinary action or criminal proceedings
- Verify that you have read QUT's IF Rules and agree to abide by them
- Accept the IF Rules each time you change your password
- Your QUT-Access username and password is strictly for your own use, and you must take all reasonable precautions to prevent anyone else using them for any purpose
- You may use your QUT–Access username and password only as necessary to fulfil the requirements of your course. You may not use them for any other purposes, such as playing computer games
- You may not use QUT's centrally provided computers to store any data which is not required to fulfil the requirements of your course. Storing illegal MP3s or any other forms of audio or video on the university's computers is strictly prohibited
- You may not make any attempt to use any other username and password not intended and lawfully allocated for your own personal use
- You may not copy any software or other data which may be subject to the laws of copyright or in contravention of licences under which QUT is permitted to use the software
- Unauthorised access to, or attempts to access, any networks or systems constitutes an offence.
